Jon & Jen's Wedding: Coming Soon

I'm back in NYC for a bit.

Was at my cousin Jon & Jen's Wedding this weekend in Connecticut working as their official photographer.

Saw lots of family and extended I haven't seen in a long time.

For instance, I haven't seen Nick & Don in like twenty years...

Bride and Groom looked pretty. And were MUCH more chilled out than I expected.

It was a small but fierce wedding party.

Purty!

Gummy smiles!

Jen's dress was really pretty. Hair too. Everything!

In case you're wondering, the direction I gave them for the above picture is: "Your first baby just died but you're getting over it. Resilience!" No joke.

More pics and description to come, including a full recounting of how Cousin Jeff spilled wine all over his shirt, danced around half-naked and then threw up in public.

But now I have to go focus on this powerpoint I'm putting together for the Headshot Seminar / Infomercial I'm hosting tomorrow. Eeek!

If you want to skip ahead and just view the pics I posted on Facebook click here.

Katie & Semmes' Wedding Video

So Katie and Semmes had their New Orleans reception tonight at which we premiered their wedding music video chronicling one of the funnest weddings in history.

So finally I can share it with y'all.

Enjoy it! Share it! Let's get on Oprah!

Oh and here's the vimeo version which I think is sharper.

Carlos & Dany's Wedding Video

So I don't remember if I ever posted this, but several months ago, Khalil sent me the link to this beautiful wedding video he had found.

The guy who made it, Alexi, is a graphic designer guy based in Toronto who is a tech geek and crazy about cameras and had made this video for his friends after attending their wedding.

I was so moved and impressed by the video that I contacted Alexi, who actually had only just started doing videography as a hobby.

We became cyberbuddies and I put him in touch with Katie and we ended up flying him down to shoot her and Semmes' wedding last weekend.

We've been going back and forth on editing ideas, and I've seen some of the footage...and their wedding video is his best work EVER. It is going to be F*CKING INCREDIBLE.

Seriously...I think it may go viral on YouTube and turn Katie and Semmes into internet celebrities. I can't wait until the teaser is finished so I can show it to you. And the world. And then we go on Oprah.

Stay tuned.

Until then. Watch Carlos and Dany's video!

Katie and Semmes' Wedding: This is gonna take a while

Gonna take a while and multiple blog entries.

I mean, it was AN EVENT.

Katie already has the most infectious smile and laugh and spirit of anyone I know. Put her in a room with her dearest family and friends, get her MARRIED, and well, it was basically a 12 hour smilefest.

The band was amazing. Her photographer was amazing. Like AMAZING. The most creative guy I have ever seen.

Here's a teaser photo he posted on his blog.

And everyone was all smiles all day long.

Here are the first few photos I've worked on. There are so many photos, I really have no idea how this is going to work. Stay tuned!

Such a beautiful wedding.

Such a happy weekend.

Congrats Katie and Semmesey! Have fun in France!

Standard Beer / PPL / MAO Wedding

Kristen had like 20 friends meeting up at the Standard Beer Garden the other night so we went there for some drinks.

Tim stopped by because he lives two blocks away from there now.

Speaking of high school friends, I met up with Patrick, who we last saw in Hong Kong over New Years, and who has been around the city for the summer.

We went to the club at the Trump Soho which is truly awful never ever go there.

Oh and the highlight of the weekend was shooting a wedding up in Greenwich that MAO hooked me up with.

This gig meant a lot to me because remember like five years ago when I had a quarterlife crisis and didn't know what I was doing with my life?

Well Anne helped inspire me to become a photographer and served as my muse and some of the first pretty pretty pictures I ever took were of her as I began to build my portfolio.

And then from that there was our whole Hong Kong Adventure where I hooked her up with the Starz Agency and thus began the brief but lucrative (and possibly ongoing) modeling career.

And now here she is hooking me up with photo gigs because I'm now, like, a real professional photographer y'all!

Anyway, the wedding was super fun. And the pictures turned out beautiful even PRE-photoshop (as you'll see below).

Thank you Anne for the wedding gig, for inspiring me endlessly, for being a great friend, and a for being a true beauty inside and out. Oh and for being a totally nutso vampire-loving goofball weirdo.

Love love love.

Phil is one of the luckiest.

Megoon & Dan's Wedding (Finally)

Once upon a time, Todd and Mark and Imran wanted to have a New Years Party at their wonderful new Chelsea pad.

They needed a theme.

I suggested a White Party, since the gays do it yearly.

My brainchild + their effortchild => WHITE PARTY NEW YEARS 2006

It had been way over-attended. Friends invited friends. People walked in off the street. It was insanity.

And in came lonelyboy Dan, a guest of a guest, searching for his bride...

How anyone was supposed to find a bride in this mess is beyond me...

But a bride he did find. Hidden under newsboy cap and wasted face.

Flash forward to May 29, 2010.

With beautiful best friends and family on hand, Megoons is to gets marrieds.

It was a proud day for mommy...

And fun aunts...

And other mommies...

And new hunky brothers-in-law...

And an emotional day for the Goon especially.

When the ceremony began and she walked into the room and everyone stood up and just BEAMED at her, tears streamed down her face and bride became tomato.

Bright beautiful tomato.

Happily we have black and white to remedy such situations.

The parents got all teary too.

But it was all joyful tearing.

Happy happy friends and family all around.

Gosh Dan sure does like Megoon.

And I think she quite likes him back.

The deal was sealed...

Married!

Bliss.

And then cocktails.

Look closely at the crazy little girlchild with her dolls. Priceless.

There was a little dancing.

And then cocktails. Meghan made sure the cocktail hour had MEATBALLS. Thank you Meghan for thinking of your eater-friends.

There was also a MASHED POTATO BAR

Some people like salmon and capers on their potatomash.

Some like vegemables...

Others like baco-cheese-ness...

Bride definitly like baco-cheese

YUM

And then it was into the greenhousedanceflooreatroom.

A little pre-eating danceparty is always fun.

Orr....we could just dance all through dinner.

Yes let's do that.

Children got Chicken Fingers. I thought about stealing them.

Instead I stole ice cream.

And watched the man-in-pink dance like a maniac.

We just danced til the very end. And they played Tik Tok. And it was awesome.

I heart Meghan's new family.

Do you know what time it is?

Yes time for cake...

But also time for bouquet toss!

Melanie caught it.

They will marry.

We loves Willis!

We also loves giant chandelier crown.

Just kidding I have tricked you with my photographic magic.

And then we changed to slumberclothes for the afterparty.

There was no music in the bar.

So a wonderful friend of Dan's took to the piano and played some epic songs.

Especially memorable was when he was able to play "Don't Stop Believin'"

So overplayed, and yet it never gets old.

Magical fun wedding day.

Congratulations again and forever.

Mrs. Megoon.
